The following individuals are the Officers of SFSNJ and as such constitute its Executive Board:
Kathleen A. Martin, RN, LSW, past President
Ms. Martin is currently the Nurse Manager of the Pediatric unit and the Family Health Center at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. She has over 29 years experience in the healthcare field as a nurse in various direct care positions and in a supervisory capacity. She is a Licensed Social Worker with a Master’s degree from Fordham University in NY. She joined the Seashore Family Services’ Board in 2008. She is involved in various professional organizations including the National Association of Social Workers, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She also volunteers with the St. Dominic Parish Nurse Council. She was a member of the Brick Municipal Alliance in 1998-2002 and member of the Northern Ocean Domestic Violence Response Team, 2001-2003.
Phillip L. Lucas, Esq., Treasurer
Mr. Phillip L. Lucas, Esq. has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1982 and has served as President of the Board twice, including the current term as President in 2008. He is an active in the community in various organizations including Past President of the Brick Township Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Ocean County Workforce Development Board. He has his own office in Brick Township since 1976 and has a general practice of law including real estate, elder law, will, estates and trusts, bankruptcy law and business formations.
Elizabeth Ackerman, Trustee
Ms. Ackerman’s Sales and Marketing career has been in the chemical additives industry. It did include AVP of Essex Chemical Corp which included worldwide travel and Marketing & Advertising Manager of Ultra Additives, Inc., both United States Corporations. She is a current member of the Brick Rotary Club. Now, retired and residing in Brick, NJ.
Mary Jo Buchanan, LCSW, MPA
Mary Jo Buchanan is currently the Executive Director of Ocean Partnership for Children and is responsible for the overall management of Ocean County’s Care Management serving children and youth with substance abuse, mental health, intellectual and development disabilities. In addition she has worked with the Morris County Administrator and elected officials to develop, manage and oversee the County budget. She is an experienced human services professional with over 25 years of expertise in management, administration budgeting, personnel oversight, program development and innovation in the public and private non-profit sectors.
Mary Williams is currently serving as Associate Director of Athletics/Compliance & Student-Athlete Welfare/Senior Woman Administrator where she is responsible for all NCAA DII Compliance regulations, education and implementation. Mary is a result oriented professional with extensive experience in student interactions, advising and programming. She received her B.A,. Psychology, Women ‘s Studies Minor at Georgian Court University, in Lakewood, NJ.
Lois A. Currie
Lois A. Currie is a professional social worker and educator with over forty years of experience gained in Northern NJ school systems as a Student Assistant Coordinator, School Social Worker and Guidance Counselor, Teacher. She is well versed in program administration and substance awareness. Lois got her education at Kean College in Union, N.J.
Katherine S. Rubin, President of the Board
Katherine S. Rubin is currently employed as a paralegal in a law firm, where she is responsible for business and attorney trust accounts. Katherine is a licensed Guidance Counselor in NJ and NY as well as a licensed secondary school teacher in NJ and NY.
